Macon County Board of Education Job Description Position Summary:
The Principal will play a pivotal role in fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence, student well-being, and a positive school culture. Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university Professional leadership certificate issued by the Alabama State Department of Education prior to starting date At least three years of successful K-12 teaching experience At least two years of successful K-12 leadership experience Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start dateEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the effective implemention of the Alabama Course of Study (ACOS) across all subject areas and grade levels Lead the implementation of creative teaching methods and curriculum development to meet the needs of a diverse student population Supervise special programs such as special education, English as a Second Language, and Section 504 to ensure legal compliance Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that teaching practices align with the latest educational trends and best practices Ensure effective school operations to promote the optimal learning environment Implement and enforce Board policies that support a safe and conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning Cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture that actively engages students in their educational journey Implement student support strategies that address academic, social, and emotional development needs Establish relationships with all stakeholders to create a collaborative and supportive school community Plan and implement professional learning opportunities for employees that are aligned with school and district goals Create and implement an annual Alabama Continuous Improvement Plan (ACIP) in accordance with district and state guidelines Manage the school budget and prioritize available resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences Mentor, supervise, and evaluate employees in accordance with district and state guidelines Create and implement a crisis management plan to ensure the safety of students and employees Ensure that students successfully matriculate through each grade span, ultimately leading to graduation from high school Perform other duties as assigned by theSuperintendent of Education Required Skills and Competencies:

Ability to effectively present information to others and respond to students, parents, and staff. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student matters. Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities. Ability to be professional in appearance, attitude, and demeanor. Ability to be punctual and comply with a precise work schedule. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Knowledge of child development and especially of characteristics of students in the age group assigned. Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum. Knowledge of current educational research. Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology.Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee must also talk, hear, stand, and walk.
