• PRN, Per diem Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine and critical care, demonstrating the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine the needs of individuals presenting to the emergency department. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor patients' vital signs and conditions, providing timely interventions as necessary. Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on acuity and urgency. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies. Utilize EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient patient record management. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes within the emergency department. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during procedures. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for Georgia or a compact license. Previous experience in an Emergency Room or Level I/II Trauma Center is preferred. Comfortable being the only nurse working the ER (smaller facility) Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices. Proficiency in IV insertion, medication administration, phlebotomy, and basic life support techniques. Experience with various EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus. Critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Additional experience or certifications in areas such as trauma medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, or behavioral health may be beneficial.
