$90.00-$110.00 per hour (depending on licensure, level, and location) Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is primarily responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication consultation and collaboration with community prescribers. NP ensures PHP admissions are medically necessary and clinically appropriate. The NP will provide pharmacological treatment, if indicated, and request and review any needed lab work.
Within the organization:
Initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with staff, clients, families, facility, and peers throughout the organization. Outside the organization : Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed Essential Responsibilities Conducts all Psychiatric Evaluations and ensures medical necessity for all individuals enrolled in the PHP. Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed. Available on-site at least weekly and by telephone in unusual or urgent situations related to medication. Provides consultation, education and related information to patients and the families, if involved, to increase success of treatment and program engagement. Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions. Provides consultation to community referrals as needed to ensure successful disposition of former patients. Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner as needed to meet clinical, payer and other requirements. Participates in marketing and outreach events on occasion. Perform other activities as requested by the Director and assume other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications Experience:
Board Eligible or Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in CA. Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired. Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff. Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a behavioral health setting such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, or related service provider required Minimum of two (2) years of experience treating clients which preferable would include young adults and adults in the mental health. Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus. Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity A valid Driver's license and a generally clean driving record are required. Employees may be required to drive personal or company vehicles. State licensing DHS and DSS prohibit individuals with specific criminal charges, conducted by Livescan fingerprint checks. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
