GED Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary This position is responsible for monitoring and controlling the pretreatment system for steel and aluminum parts before powder coat and paint. The main focus is keeping the chemical process in control, making sure parts are properly cleaned, and making adjustments as needed to keep the system within spec. Duties and Responsibilities Monitors the pretreatment system (wash, rinse, dry stages) to make sure it is running within set parameters. Checks and adjusts chemical levels daily (pH, titration, conductivity, etc.) Keeps chemical tanks within the correct ranges for proper part cleaning. Tracks and records test results and chemical usage. Catches and corrects any process issues that could affect quality. Performs basic upkeep of the system (cleaning nozzles, checking filters, managing sludge buildup) Checks parts to make sure they are clean and ready for coating. Follows all shop safety rules and safe work practices. Handles and stores chemicals properly. Manages hazardous waste from the system (labeling, storage, and disposal coordination). Watches for leaks, spills, or anything that could cause a safety or environmental issue. Keeps the area clean, organized, and safe. Provides general facility technician support as needed. Supports material handling throughout the shop when required. Manages scrap and shop waste streams. Handles CNC coolant waste collection and disposal. Manages Timesaver sludge disposal and upkeep. Oversees aluminum and steel grinding booth waste control. Maintains proper handling, storage, and organization of all shop waste materials. Supports overall shop cleanliness and environmental compliance efforts. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Position Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 3 - 5 years of related experience required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic understanding of chemical handling and process control. Strong attention to detail Able to work independently and follow instructions.
