Responsibilities of the
Process Engineer:
  • Maintain expertise in all operational processes and continuous improvement methods, including Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Monitor and analyze root causes of production downtime and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead Process Improvement meetings with operators and plant staff to identify safety, quality, and production concerns and implement solutions.
  • Develop and manage special projects, including cost estimates, labor and material planning, vendor coordination, and project tracking.
  • Utilize engineering best practices to improve workplace safety and minimize hazardous working conditions.
  • Analyze operational performance and communicate findings and recommendations through written and verbal reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including proper documentation and monitoring procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, investigations, and continuous improvement efforts related to environmental and workplace safety.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training, workshops, and industry resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements for the
Process Engineer:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline required; Mechanical, Electrical, or Wood Science preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Kaizen, and SMED.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and process improvement skills.
  • Leadership ability with experience facilitating meetings and leading teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments preferred.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, or Wood Science preferred).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
