Job Type:
Contract (through September, potential for extension) Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on R D Lab Technician to support product development efforts in a fast-paced laboratory environment focused on nutraceutical, pet, and veterinary products. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or currently pursuing a degree who is interested in gaining practical experience in formulation, scale-up, and lab operations. This role will work closely with a Scientist and play a key part in supporting benchtop trials, ingredient preparation, and data collection for new product development. Key Responsibilities Support formulation and development of new and existing products through benchtop mixing and scale-up activities Weigh and prepare ingredients according to established formulas Assist with powder, bar, and supplement product development trials Operate and learn lab equipment such as particle size analyzers, powder flow testers, and capsule testing tools Conduct and support studies including sensory, stability, and exploratory testing Collect, document, and organize experimental data using Excel and internal systems Maintain accurate lab records and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards Keep laboratory space clean, organized, and fully stocked Assist with general lab operations and additional tasks as needed Qualifications Required Associate's degree in a science-related field OR currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or related) 1-2+ years of hands-on lab, manufacturing, or internship experience Basic understanding of formulations, ingredients, or product development Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and being on your feet for extended periods Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Preferred Experience in food science, nutraceuticals, or supplement development Familiarity with lab equipment and formulation processes Experience with Excel or formulation software Skills & Competencies Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to follow direction and work in a small team environment Good organizational and documentation skills Problem-solving mindset and curiosity for troubleshooting Effective communication and teamwork Work Environment Onsite laboratory and pilot production setting in Kannapolis Hands-on role requiring standing, lifting, and working with materials and equipment Opportunity to work closely with a Scientist and gain real-world R D experience Why Apply?
