Job Description

American Howa Kentucky, Inc. is a global supplier of automotive interiors and noise vibration parts. American Howa Kentucky, Inc. is seeking a full-time Production Team Leader. Support and assist the production supervisor in continuous improvement and training for all production leaders to ensure quality parts, on time, the first time to meet or exceed our customer requirements, while supporting the policies and standard operation procedures of AHK. Duties and Responsibilities Support production efficiency and scrap reduction targets by monitoring performance off all production lines Maintain personnel training records to ensure operator cross training is completed per training matrix Maintain production 5S and Preventive Maintenance procedures to ensure improved efficiency and reduced downtime Train production leaders and operators in proper methods to follow standardized work (SOPs) Ensures accurate documentation for all production processes Assist in updating procedures for all production processes with feedback from production team leaders, supervisors and management. Communicate information related to Production with fellow leadership members Follow all plant safety policies and procedures Assist and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes Effectively monitor the daily tasks and work completed by their team members to ensure meeting or exceeding the KPI's of the production department. Conduct employee 90 day reviews and work to improve each team member Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, OT assignments, providing back-up for absent employees and shift rotations. Coordinate with HR for appropriate staffing levels based on hiring plan Schedule and conduct shift meetings to keep all team members properly informed Assume responsibility for manufacturing processes during shift for plant Assist in keeping properly trained team members in key positions to reduce scrap, enhance efficiency while working safely at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Previous supervisory experience preferred Previous experience in manufacturing environment High School Diploma or GED required Valid State issued driver's license or ability to obtain in 30 days Forklift License or ability to obtain in 30 days Toyota Production System (TPS) training preferred Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products Must be task-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy Ability to work flexible hours to meet departmental and team member's needs Ability to work in a team environment and have the ability to positively communicate with team members Must be able to effectively interact with AHK employees at all levels within the organization Physical and Skill requirements Work activities may include lifting 50 pounds or more frequently, standing or sitting for extended periods. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required Understand the operations of all equipment in your work area Red Cross certification to serve as a First Responder for work area and plant or ability to obtain at the next sponsored event. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers This position will primarily be inside an industrial manufacturing facility, but there may be periods required outside.
