Job Description

Job Title:
Production Associate (1st Shift) ($16.00/hr.) Job Description This role focuses on building high-quality wire harnesses by operating specialized wire cutting and termination equipment, following detailed work instructions, and performing repetitive production tasks with strong attention to detail. You will work primarily with small components, using hand tools and measuring instruments to cut, strip, braid, terminate, splice, and assemble wires that support automotive and lawn equipment applications. We are looking for individuals to start Tuesday May 12th after interviewing and completing onboarding paperwork. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Apply Today!   • Responsibilities Operate Komax wire cutting and termination machines to produce wire harness components according to work instructions.
Pick and stage required wire, components, and materials from the warehouse based on work orders and job travelers. Cut, strip, braid, terminate, splice, and assemble wires into complete harnesses following specified procedures. Route, loop, tie, and bundle wires neatly to build wire harnesses that meet quality and configuration requirements. Read and follow work orders, diagrams, blueprints, and wire lists to connect wires to terminals, connectors, plugs, and components using crimping tools or soldering irons. Use measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, and scales to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications. Perform visual quality checks and basic continuity testing to confirm proper assembly and functionality. Use hand tools and crimping machines safely, accurately, and consistently throughout the production process. Apply basic math and measurement skills to verify lengths, quantities, and tolerances during assembly. Work with a high level of attention to detail, maintaining strong hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination when handling small parts. Ensure finished wire harnesses meet established quality standards before sending them to quality assurance. Lift and move materials and products weighing approximately 20-30 pounds as part of daily tasks. Perform repetitive and monotonous production tasks while maintaining focus, accuracy, and productivity. Work primarily in a seated position in the terminator role, with opportunities to be cross-trained in other departments to vary tasks and responsibilities. Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and production guidelines to support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. Essential Skills Experience reading and following detailed work instructions in a production or assembly environment. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis. Strong hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with small parts and precise assemblies. Experience using basic hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to distinguish and see color clearly in order to read and follow wire color codes and wire prints. Capability to perform basic math and measurements accurately. Comfort working in a repetitive, monotonous production setting while maintaining quality and consistency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with machine setup and general machine operation in a production environment. Experience in general production or manufacturing is beneficial, including operating production machinery. Familiarity with wire harness assembly, including cutting, stripping, braiding, terminating, and testing wires. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and wire lists related to harness assembly. Experience with termination testing and the use of wire strippers, crimping tools, and related equipment. Openness to cross-training and learning various departments within a manufacturing facility. Work Environment The role is based in a state-of-the-art, approximately 70,000-square-foot wire harness manufacturing facility designed for efficiency, cleanliness, and safety. The facility operates within an ISO 9001-certified quality system and can meet ROHS, UL, and CSA requirements, reflecting a strong focus on quality and compliance. You will work with Komax wire cutting and termination machines, hand tools, crimping machines, measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, and scales, and basic testing equipment for continuity checks. The shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:20 p.m., and the work is primarily repetitive production and assembly, with the terminator position often seated but with opportunities to move to other departments through cross-training. The environment supports a steady production pace, clear work instructions, and structured processes, with a focus on maintaining a clean, orderly workspace and consistent product quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, Ohio. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
