Production Farm Husbandry Technician Location:
LaCrosse, VA Employment Type:

Farm, Hot, Humid, Dusty, fast-paced Join The Bug Company — Where Your Work Makes a Difference Are you dependable, detail-oriented, and not afraid to get your hands a little dirty? Do you have a passion for animals or insects? If so, The Bug Company wants you on our Production Team! This is a hands-on, physical role where you'll work closely with live insects — ensuring their care, health, and environment are maintained to the highest standards. About Us The Bug Company is a leader in the pet industry, specializing in insect husbandry and shipping of live insects for reptile and exotic pet owners nationwide. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented team members who enjoy active, hands-on work in production.
Position Summary What You'll Be Doing:
Monitoring insect health & habitat conditions Preparing food and feeding live insect colonies Cleaning and maintaining rearing environments Ensuring secure and stable housing for insects Following safety and care protocols Using tools like box cutters, tape guns, etc.
What We're Looking For:
Comfortable working with live insects daily Physically able to lift 50 lbs, kneel, squat, and bend Reliable and able to work in a hot, humid, dusty environment Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Able to work independently and with a team Basic math and tool-handling skills Fluent in English with clear communication Willingness to adapt and take on tasks as needed
Schedule:
Friday•Tuesday 7:00 AM•3:30 PM (hours may vary based on shipping volume and company needs)
Pay Rate:
$19 an hour Benefits Paid Vacation•accrued time 7 major paid holidays are paid at time-and-a-half when worked Medical Benefits (3 different plan options) 401(k) with Company Match Additional Information Equal Opportunity Employer At-Will Employment Offers are contingent on clearing reference checks and background checks
