Job Description
Job Title:
Production Operator Shift:
3rd Shift (11pm to 7am) Monday through Friday Job Description The Production Operator plays a key role in a growing 3D printing manufacturing team by running and monitoring plastic extrusion equipment that produces high-quality filament. This hands-on, fast-paced role focuses on setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion lines while ensuring consistent product quality. You will work in a clean, modern manufacturing environment, using both machinery and computer systems to keep production running smoothly and accurately. Responsibilities Set up, start, and operate plastic extrusion lines at the beginning of each shift. Warm up equipment and prepare raw materials at the start of the shift to ensure a smooth production launch. Monitor extrusion lines continuously to maintain consistent filament size, color, and overall quality. Load raw materials into machines and maintain adequate supply to keep production flowing without downtime. Change out finished filament spools promptly and prepare completed product for packaging and shipment. Use computer systems to track production, log data, and document each production run accurately. Inspect products visually and through basic measurements to verify they meet specifications. Identify equipment or product quality issues quickly and escalate them to the appropriate personnel. Perform basic cleaning and routine maintenance on machines to support safe and efficient operation. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards while following all safety procedures. Rotate between tasks such as machine monitoring, spool changes, inspection, and packaging as needed. Work with different materials, colors, and product specifications throughout the week to meet production requirements. Collaborate with a small production team to meet daily output and quality goals while working independently on your own production line. Stand at your production line for extended periods, managing machine operation, swapping filament spools, and packing product. Essential Skills Experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation is helpful but not required. Ability to operate and monitor production or extrusion machinery safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and product quality. Comfort working with computers and basic tracking systems for data entry and production logging. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Ability to stay on your feet for most of the shift and keep up with a steady production pace. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of regular production and packaging activities. Basic inspection skills to identify quality issues in products. Reliability and willingness to follow established processes and safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in general production, packaging, or packing environments. Previous experience with machine operation or machine operating in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with forklift operation. Experience working on an individual production line while coordinating with a small team. Comfort working with different materials, colors, and product specifications in a manufacturing environment. Ability to maintain an organized workspace and manage multiple tasks such as machine monitoring and packaging. Why Work Here? You will join a clean, modern manufacturing environment that is more controlled and comfortable than a typical heavy industrial setting. The team works with innovative 3D printing technology, giving you the chance to be part of a growing and forward-looking industry. You will be part of a tight-knit group where your contributions directly impact production success and are recognized. The role offers consistent full-time hours, including an overnight shift differential built into pay, providing stability and predictable scheduling. Work Environment The work takes place on a clean, organized production floor that is more modern and controlled than a traditional manufacturing shop. You will spend most of your shift on your feet, actively running extrusion machines, swapping filament spools, and packaging finished product. The pace is steady and requires sustained focus and attention to detail. You will work closely with a small team but will also manage your own production line and tasks independently. The environment involves regular use of production machinery and computer systems for tracking and documentation, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
