Production Planner Sharp Iron Group Wichita Falls, TX Job Details Full-time 13 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications 3D modeling software Six Sigma Green Belt Procurement ERP systems Microsoft Office MRP 3D modeling for product design Production management software Decision making 3D modeling Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Overview As Production Planner, you will be charged with production schedule generation, schedule execution, shifting production priorities and demands when needed, and working to improve current work order processes and administration, working closely with our production planning and supervisory teams in support of these responsibilities. This position will report directly to the Estimating and Planning Manager, and will work closely with the Fabrication Supervisors to ensure the achievement of our on-time delivery, first-time quality, process improvement, and financial goals. Duties Work with the Estimating and Planning Manager to understand work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine operational requirements. Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements, scheduling completion based on current capacity and historical lead times. Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule. Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved. Expedite and optimize material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements. Support purchasing by identification of immediate raw material needs. Expedite suppliers purchase orders if required. Utilize ERP system in management of all aspects of the production process. Notify Sales and Planning of any schedule impacts to customers. Create and maintain detailed manufacturing schedules. Completes status reports, such as production progress, customer information and materials inventory. Execute material transfer requests between facilities. Provide input to plan project needs of manpower, equipment, and raw material. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Work with the production and planning teams to execute work order exceptions in support of continuous process improvements. Enforce Safety rules. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications 3+ years Solidworks, able to create 3D models and DXF. Detailed mechanical knowledge required. Working knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning, various operating (ERP) systems, and MS Office required. 3+ years' experience working in a manufacturing, procurement, or customer service-related capacity is preferred. Experience with Infor Visual ERP software for manufacturing a plus. Education Bachelor's Degree in engineering field strongly preferred (may be substituted for 10+ years of direct manufacturing planning and drafting experience).
