Learn more about us at http://www.capitalcityfruit.com/. We would love to have you on our team! SUMMARY Production Supervisor supports the Operations Manager in overseeing the produce packing lines. This position is responsible for managing both employees and production work. The Production Supervisor compiles orders and ensures that produce is ready for shipment. This person will also manage every aspect of the employment cycle to develop and retain staff, which includes interviewing, hiring, training, communicating, coaching, completing performance reviews, adjusting work 5-day work week, salaried position: Tues-Sat. 7am
  • approx 4 pm (or until work is complete).
Entry Pay:
$50k
  • 58k per year, and bi-annual bonus pay!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Hire, train, and retain productive staff. Supervise production staff to ensure productivity (includes all related supervisory duties) Review and approve assigned and delegated employee timecards within the outlined deadlines for payroll processing Adding employees to timeclocks or make changes as needed Monitor inventory of produce using custom software Monitor the quality of items produced at the line level Ensure product quality meets customer specifications Ensure that packing machines are in working order Enter maintenance tickets for repairs Ability to diagnose and resolve minor equipment issues Document machine issues/trouble shooting/fixes as group resource Learn general machine operations such as changing labels, film, netting, and wrap Assist production staff as necessary, including the following duties: Weigh cartons on scale to insure proper weight of product Place cartons on pallets for shipment Operate forklifts (following proper training) Operate electric and manual hand jacks (following proper training) Ensuring established HACCP procedures are being used Perform daily pre and post operational inspections on assigned days and/or delegated days Using Produce Pro software system to create re-packs, request product (bus route-WMS system), inventory inquiries, printing GTIN and shipping labels, labor tracking (line level and full dept). Learn and report metrics such as labor per package, pieces per hour Ensure systems in place for trace back Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments such as Quality, Shipping/Receiving, Sales, Purchasing, Facilities, HR and IT. Daily working in email and Outlook calendar regarding requests, meetings and tasks. Ability to perform production scheduling including staffing assignments Meet with staff monthly to deliver information and on-going coaching Conduct daily stand-up meetings at start up Creating and delivering employee 30-90-annual reviews and quarterly scorecards Participate in delegated meetings from the Operations Manager when necessary Ensure all end of day tasks are complete before leaving for the day Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Occupational Safety Procedure and all Food Safety guidelines related to the position or being on the Warehouse floor.

Manages production employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education
  • Bachelors degree (Required) Supervisory Experience
  • 2 years (Preferred) Retail Management Experience
  • (Preferred) Problem solving skills (required)

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, in person, and in writing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common sales documents. Comfortable working in a diverse language environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Some independent decision making and problem solving abilities are required to complete orders as well as assist staff and customers. Ability to perform basic math calculations
