Job Description

Position Title:
Production Supervisor (3rd Shift, M-TH 7:00 PM
  • 5:30 AM )
Department:
Manufacturing Reports to: Plant Manager S alary commensurate with experience Position summary: Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines on third shift to manufacture products.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring safety : Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, and overseeing the safe use of equipment
  • Monitoring production: Checking production output against specifications, and monitoring production efficiency
Troubleshooting :
Identifying and resolving issues that arise on the production floor
  • Analyzing records : Compiling and analyzing production records
  • Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Develop, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
  • Ensures Daily Production Plans are executed to meet customer requirements.
  • Develops implements and updates Standard Operating Procedures. Implements changes to process and procedures to improve quality and productivity. Organizes production, sets up standards of performance, formulates and interprets related policies.
  • Analyses problems, determines solutions and implements corrective action.
  • Recommends the addition of staff or equipment.
  • Conducts employee appraisal interviews and recommends wage adjustments.
  • Ensures adherence to prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure departments comply with
ISO 9001-1400
requirements.
  • Ensures department complies with 6S requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly and indirectly supervise employees within the production and materials employees. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualities:
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  • Experience with Manufacturing software system (Epicor a plus).
Experience And Education:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); AS or BS in business preferred; Minimum 5 years experience in Manufacturing environment; 3 years experience in a leadership/ supervisory role.
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally position will require bending, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs.   • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually Moderate (40-60 dB) _ Frequently duties will require work in Loud (60dB-80 dB) and Occasionally Very Loud (80-110 dB) environments.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to _50__ pounds
