Job Title:
Production Support Technician Job Description The Production Support Technician provides hands-on support to daily manufacturing operations by performing bandsaw cutting, drill press operation, crucible cleaning, and material handling in a fast-paced industrial environment. This full-time temporary role focuses on safe and efficient production while upholding high standards of quality, housekeeping, and teamwork. Responsibilities Operate industrial bandsaws to cut materials to specified dimensions while maintaining accuracy and safety. Operate drill press equipment safely and efficiently to support production requirements. Assist with crucible cleaning and preparation activities to ensure equipment readiness for production. Perform material handling tasks using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other industrial equipment as trained. Follow all safety procedures, standard work instructions, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times. Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas to support housekeeping and foreign object debris (FOD) expectations. Inspect equipment regularly and promptly report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. Accurately complete production paperwork, logs, and documentation to support traceability and quality requirements. Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to meet production goals and resolve issues. Support general production activities as needed, including general labor and machine operation tasks in a manufacturing setting. Essential Skills Ability to safely operate industrial bandsaws and drill presses in a production environment. Ability to safely operate hand tools and industrial equipment. Experience or capability to perform general labor, machine operation, or warehouse tasks in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Ability to perform material handling tasks, including operating forklifts and overhead cranes when trained. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently. Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support consistent production operations. Willingness and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as required. Physical ability to bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks in an industrial setting. Ability to work in hot, dusty, and industrial environments around heavy equipment and moving machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous industrial, manufacturing, construction, or mechanical experience preferred. Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus. Good communication skills to interact with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams. Strong safety mindset and commitment to following established procedures. Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to take initiative. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks and processes. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that operates four 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, with overtime possible based on business needs. You will work around heavy equipment, moving machinery, dust, heat, and varying noise levels, and you must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with a strong emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and adherence to standard work procedures. The position involves extended periods of standing and walking, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and regular bending, kneeling, climbing, and other physically demanding tasks typical of an industrial production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richland, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
