Job Description

Job Title:
Team Leader Department:
Production As Team Leader, your main responsibility is leading, training and developing team members such that they are capable of continuously achieving and exceeding the expected performance levels. This includes but is not limited to the areas of safety, employee involvement, scheduling, and work place orderliness. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to meet previously agreed upon production goals and improvement initiatives. Fulfilling this role will include, not only supporting other team members, but also working on projects and filling in on production lines, as needed, to meet production requirements. You will be the production team member's first point of contact with any production related issues.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Supports completing the production monitoring progress towards daily goals, supports production staff with needs that may occur during the day, and helps resolve problems Provides support to production planning and scheduling in the event of the manager being absent. First point of contact for any problems or issues that arise on the shop floor. Quickly evaluates the problems, then helps resolve or engage the necessary resources to resolve including issues with paperwork, materials, and non-critical maintenance issues. Quickly evaluates the problems, then helps resolve or engage the necessary resources to resolve including issues with paperwork, materials, and non-critical maintenance issues Provides training to new employees utilizing existing standard work and work instructions Audits production staff to standard work and procedures, as requested, or on regularly scheduled intervals. Provides input to standard work improvements as needed Seeks and implements continuous improvement actions that help to resolve conflicts with production schedules, maintenance, standard work, etc.. Champion of employee and process safety throughout the facility. Lead by example and always is aware of potential safety hazards and risks and seeks ways to mitigate those risks Evaluate and provide feedback on 5S issues and insure open 5S action items are being completed Provides back up for the manager at scheduled meetings including daily start up meetings, report out meetings, MRB meetings, and Asaichi meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
Successful enrollment in, or completion of, Team Leader training as provided by the company Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Basic knowledge of IT applications such as SAP Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong working knowledge of all manufacturing and business processes encountered on the shop floor during a regular workday Ability to manage multiple tasks on a daily basis and complete them according to plan
Key Working Relationship:
The Team Leader will work under the supervision of production management, but is expected to perform a majority of the tasks independently. They will support production planning and communicate effectively with all departments in the organization.
