Production Worker - Automated Magnet Wire Manufacturing (700 Building) Job Description This role focuses on end-to-end operation of highly automated magnet wire production lines in a modern, temperature-controlled facility. You will prepare raw materials, monitor continuous manufacturing processes, perform quality checks, and move finished products using material handling equipment. The position emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on long, automated production lines that run continuously to shape, coat, cure, and spool wire for automotive customers. Responsibilities Handle raw materials and prepare them for production according to established procedures. Load the production line by feeding raw wire into the automated equipment as required. Read and understand specification sheets to set up and adjust machines correctly. Operate fully automated, continuous production lines and monitor performance throughout the shift. Use the HMI touchscreen to track machine status, verify process parameters, and ensure product quality while the line is running. Troubleshoot basic machine issues and escalate more complex problems when necessary. Pull in-process enamel samples and accurately document all required in-process checks and updates by hand. Perform regular quality inspections to confirm that products meet detailed and stringent specifications. Use an overhead crane to move finished spools of wire safely and efficiently. Operate a forklift approximately 15% of the time to move raw materials and finished products around the facility and into storage. Package finished spools of wire for outbound shipment according to standard procedures. Maintain a clean, organized work area and support cleanliness standards similar to a clean room environment. Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment while working around automated machinery and material handling equipment. Work independently with minimal supervision, staying engaged with the line, checking quality, and responding quickly to issues. Support general production tasks such as assembly, packaging, loading, and inspection as needed. Use hand tools and basic mechanical skills to support machine operation and minor adjustments. Read and follow written work orders and documentation in English. Participate in training on forklift operation and new technologies within the department. Demonstrate reliable attendance and strong work ethic to support production goals and potential advancement into lead roles. Essential SkilOur Client Ability to read, write, and understand written work orders in English. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Comfort working at heights and using grated stairs to access a second floor. Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule. Willingness to be trained on forklift operation; prior forklift certification or experience is helpful but not required. General production or machine operation experience, such as manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or assembly. Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to be mechanically inclined when working with automated machinery. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Experience or comfort with quality inspection and documentation of in-process checks. Ability to monitor an HMI touchscreen and respond to basic machine alarms or issues. Capability to work safely and effectively without constant supervision. Strong tenure and reliability in previous roles, demonstrating commitment and consistency. Willingness to multitask, maintain cleanliness, and support both production and housekeeping activities. Additional SkilOur Client & Qualifications Previous experience as a machine operator, production worker, or general laborer in a manufacturing environment. Experience with assembly line work, packaging, loading, and general production tasks. Prior forklift certification or experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production setting. Experience using an overhead crane to move heavy or bulky materials. Familiarity with tape measures, basic measurements, and reading simple blueprints or diagrams. Background in quality inspection, including visual checks and basic measurements. Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting ability and comfort working with automated equipment. Strong soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn new processes. Experience in a non-union manufacturing environment is a plus but not required. Previous lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing that could support advancement into lead-level roles. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a new, temperature-controlled production building that operates highly automated, continuous magnet wire manufacturing lines. The environment is very clean and organized, with processes and cleanliness standards that closely resemble a clean room, especially due to the detailed quality requirements of automotive customers. The work involves standing, walking, bending, and occasional work at heights on grated stairs to access a second floor. Employees use automated machinery, HMI touchscreens, overhead cranes, forklifts, and standard hand tools as part of daily operations. Shifts follow a 2/2/3 schedule with 12-hour shifts: one option runs from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and another from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The facility is less industrial in feel than traditional manufacturing spaces and focuses heavily on attention to detail, cleanliness, and safe operation of automated equipment. Dress and conduct align with a clean, safety-conscious production environment, where employees remain on site during paid breaks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.11 - $22.36/hr.
