POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to serve in the dual role as Program Manager for the federally funded "Bronx Einstein Training in Teaching and Research (BETTR) - IRACDA program" and the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Institute for Immunotherapy for Cancer and Inflammatory Disorders (KII), a newly established institute by Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The BETTR Program is NIH funded and supports up to 8 postdoctoral scholars with the goal to provide them with formal training in both research and education. The KII coordinates research, funding and collaborative opportunities for 47 faculty who run laboratories focused on developing methods to use the immune system to fight cancer and other diseases The newBETTR/KII
Program Administrator will provide day-to-day program support that include recruitment, maintenance of records, annual reports, coordinate meetings. This person will play an important role in administrative tasks including preparation of grant progress reports and budgets. He/She will play a key role in assisting the interactions of faculty and trainees in the various participating institutions, including the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and its Montefiore-Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the partner institutions, namely Hostos Community College and Lehman College (members of the CUNY system).Responsibilities:
K12 program: Assist the program directors in all aspects relating to scholar recruitment, program operations, advertising and growth. Coordinate and interact with all program members including those at our partner Institutions Hostos Community College and Lehman College. Work with program directors in setting up meetings and maintaining all program records. Manage all grant related activities including budget management, in coordination with departmental and College level administration, including playing a key role in the preparation and submission of annual Progress reports. Work with institute directors in setting up meetings, maintaining schedules, peparing and sending out announcements. Manage all grant related activities including submission, budget management, in coordination with departmental and College level administrators, including playing a key role in soliciting applicants for pilot project awards and coordinating their review, helping team science grants, and in the preparation of annual Progress reports. Work with institute directors to coordinate external vistors and collaborations.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years related experience. Masters is preferred. Work experience in higher education or science administration preferred but not required. Strong working knowledge of standard software for administrators is required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Experience with grants administration is a plus Highly skilled in organization, communication, interpersonal skills. Proactive, reliable and dedicated. Works well across different fields including scientists, students and admininstrators.Specific competencies include:
Preparation of memos, letters and meeting notices using Word Assist with preparation and editing of presentation slides using Powerpoint. Create spreadsheets for budget management and tracking using Excel. Arrange videoconferences (e.g., Zoom meetings) and send out invitations. The KII is a newly established institute created by Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine for five years under the direction of Dr. Zang. The institute is supported by benefactors' donations, currently providing an endowment of $4.5 millions, with additional institutional funds. The institute currently has 47 members who are faculty from various departments at Einstein and Montefiore who run research laboratories and/or clinical trials that explore a range of topics relevant to immunotherapy of cancer and other diseases.Similar remote jobs
