You will help manage project documentation, track materials, support scheduling and cost tracking, and assist with field coordination to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project goals. The position offers hands-on construction experience, structured training, and exposure to complex mechanical and MEP systems within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Support the on-site project manager by assisting with day-to-day project coordination and administration. Manage document control workflows by helping to prepare, track, and organize RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Maintain accurate logs for RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring they stay current and that responses are received in a timely manner. Track materials on site by monitoring deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and coordinating storage locations. Update procurement logs regularly and proactively flag any material shortages, discrepancies, or delivery delays. Assist with creating and maintaining spreadsheets and other tracking tools to monitor project data, materials, and progress. Support schedule management by updating short-interval and look-ahead schedules based on field progress and upcoming work. Prepare and update daily reports to document on-site activities, manpower, and key milestones. Communicate with subcontractors to align on timelines, deliverables, and milestones, helping to keep all parties informed and coordinated. Assist with cost tracking by supporting budget updates, reviewing invoices, and helping to monitor labor hours and productivity metrics. Walk the job site regularly to verify installation progress against drawings and schedules, and to gather information for reports and logs. Support punch list development by helping identify incomplete or deficient work and documenting items for follow-up and closeout. Assist with project closeout documentation by helping compile as-built information, warranties, and other required records. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors by following up on quotes, lead times, and compliance documentation. Help draft scopes of work and purchase orders under the guidance of project managers and staff. Collaborate with mechanical and MEP teams to support coordination efforts, especially related to HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. Participate in training sessions and onboarding activities, including travel to the corporate training location, to learn company processes, tools, and best practices. Work closely with project managers and executives on site to learn project delivery methods and develop professional skills. Essential Skills Construction experience, preferably with exposure to field operations or project coordination in commercial or industrial projects. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, including mechanical plans, piping layouts, and HVAC schematics, to support coordination and field verification. Proficiency or familiarity with construction management software such as Prolog, Primavera, or similar platforms used for scheduling, documentation, and communication. Basic understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, to facilitate collaboration with field teams and subcontractors. Strong time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and documentation requirements simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining logs, tracking materials, and managing documentation. Effective communication skills for interacting with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Ability to work fully on site and regularly walk the job site to observe progress and verify field conditions. Comfort with using spreadsheets and basic office software to create and maintain logs, reports, and tracking tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in or experience with construction management, project engineering, or project coordination. Exposure to MEP or mechanical work on construction projects, especially in data center or large industrial environments. Mechanical experience or coursework related to HVAC, plumbing, or piping systems, even if not extensive. Willingness to learn company-specific processes and tools through structured training at the corporate location. Motivation to grow from an entry-level role into a long-term project engineering or project management career path. Flexibility to consider long-term contract-to-hire opportunities with the potential to join the core project team on future large-scale projects. Openness to future travel for major projects, including the potential to receive per diem when assigned to non-local work. Work Environment This is a fully on-site role based at a large data center construction project. You will work closely with project managers and executives who are present on site to provide guidance and support. The environment is fast-paced and schedule-driven, with a strong emphasis on meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality work. You will spend time both in the field walking the site to verify installation progress and in an office or trailer setting to manage documentation, logs, and schedules. The role offers significant overtime opportunities as the project team works to complete critical milestones on time. You will use construction management software platforms such as Prolog, Primavera, and standard office tools to manage project information. As part of your onboarding, you will travel to the corporate location in Oregon for approximately one week of training at no personal cost, where you will learn company processes, systems, and best practices.
