This is an entry level role as Associate Project Manager (APM - not certified). This role will assist the Project Manager I or II (PM) in leading construction business development, financial, proposal, and all assigned project related activities. This role will work with the PM to manage contractors and projects to achieve business and financial objectives. The APM will plan and coordinate activities of designated construction projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. The measurements for success are accuracy in project planning, reporting profitability, forecasting, and performance. The APM will assist the PM in scheduling, estimating, planning, and tracking project progress and pre-construction activities. There is a strong preference for CSKT or other tribal members or descendants for this role. Assist the PM in managing the Estimating, Planning, Deployment and Construction business through the execution of activities throughout the lifecycle of the project. Develop and report on weekly financial forecasts for revenue, cost, production, and support related to profit and loss. May work with the PM to establish baseline financial performance and set goals for achieving revenue projections and business growth. Review contract documents for an understanding of project scope and tasks Assist in creating and reviewing project bids/quotes/proposals to determine budget and funding limitations, procedures, and time frame for completing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available workforce resources throughout various phases of the project. Assist the PM in establishing work plans and staffing approaches for each phase of the project including setting schedules, defining work features, finding subcontractors and resources, and working with contracts to establish subcontract agreements. Track quantities and quality of deliveries of materials and matches deliveries to manifest/bill of laden; effectively manages an inventory of materials by project. Tracks total materials on the project site and compares actual vs. estimated materials used. Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. Prepares, initiates, tracks, and executes change orders. Monitor project closeout and obtain a letter of acceptance. Promotes safety practices throughout work activities enabling opportunities for continuous improvement of safety practices in accordance with industry standards and best practices. Ensure compliance with all company policies and
OSHA/DOT
requirements at every phase of the project. File all project specific paperwork in a neat, professional, and orderly fashion for use as backup and information requests. Prepare and maintain job costs and other project reports on a weekly basis for management, clients, and others to review. Perform job-related reporting requirements per contract a. Develop interaction with other company personnel, contractors, subcontractors, stakeholders, and customer representatives in a collaborative environment to meet organizational and project deadlines, outcomes, metrics, and mission objectives. Promote the overall company vision of a team approach and maintain open communications/dialogue with all employees, contractors, and the customers through exchanging information and gathering ideas for continuous improvement and best practices. Education A High School or GED required Prefer educational track related to project management or construction Experience Ability to demonstrate experience with skills related to organization, use of good judgement, follow-through, and communication. License, Cert or Registration NA Special knowledge, skills, & abilities Skilled in applying program solving techniques to administrative matters. Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent multitasking skills Ability to work under pressure with supervision Excellent problem-solving skills Thrives in a fast-paced environment. Can maintain a positive attitude under pressure. Is a proactive problem solver. Can prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed with strong time-management skills.
