Economic Development Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible to lead the successful execution of the Economic Development Projects from inception to completion. The Project Manger must have strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be instrumental in ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met with excellence and efficiency. Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines, making the necessary adjustments to ensure project goals are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, requirements, and milestones.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPI), and provide regular status updates to the Economic Development Committee, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct comprehensive project risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address potential issues to ensure project success.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and methodologies, promoting efficiency and excellence in project execution.
  • Perform all other activities and functions necessary to carry out the duties and functions assigned to the Committee by Council. Knowledge, skills and abilities for the position:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent grammatical and spelling skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
Mathematics:
Ability to perform simple arithmetic for time-keeping and other calculations.
    Language & Communication:
    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, and communicate effectively with others.
    • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal direction.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to manage and maintain security of confidential data and information.
    • Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.
    • Solid financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and ensure the project stays within financial boundaries.
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment, managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
    • Cultural awareness of and sensitivity to Kickapoo traditions, religious beliefs and way of life.
    Supervision exercised:
    This position does not carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    Education/experience requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent hands-on project management experience.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    Three (3) years or more of business development/management experience Native American preference is observed: KTTT recognizes preference for KTTT tribal members and qualified Native American tribal members including preferential treatment in recruitment, hiring, promotions, layoffs and reductions in force so long as they meet minimum job qualifications.
