What You'll Work On As an R D Project Manager, you will directly manage multiple projects that are engaged in the research and development of new technologies, processes, and products. You will lead a cross-functional development team through the Product Development Life Cycle from conception to full product commercialization in an agile development environment. You will utilize processes that foster collaboration, innovation, quality, and transparency. You will continually seek to remove obstacles and drive out inefficiencies while maintaining a robust system of documentation and communication. You need to be highly technical and organized and able to rally team members around our common goals. You'll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks + Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific's core ARCTIC values — Accountable, Respectful, Client-Centric, Team-Oriented, Innovative, Continually Improving. + Lead, motivate and inspire cross-functional team members in an Agile development environment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, product management, manufacturing, sales, support, marketing, repair, and services). + Develop project plans containing a complete scope of work identifying all project requirements, tasks, resource assignments and an accurate estimate for task completion. + Champions and drives new product projects through the product development life cycle from conception to full commercialization using the company product development process. + Create/update project plans (Gantt Charts) on a regular basis. + Manage expenses and capital spending associated with projects. + Use common project management tools to manage team activities (agendas, meeting minutes, action items, schedules, and budgets). + Communicate status to team and stakeholders with a variety of written and verbal communication tools. + Presentations to team and senior leadership. + Provide robust documentation of project development activities and outputs. + Always willing to step outside the defined job to help the team succeed. + Accountable for all aspects of project delivery, from planning to closing. + Share the belief that project managers are active, participating team members that dig in and solve problems. + Identify improvements to the project management processes and practices based on learned knowledge and experience. The project manager studies the lessons learned from previous projects and applies the most important lessons to the next project. + Coordinate efforts to provide estimates of effort and duration on projects while they are in the proposal stage. What We're Looking For + A bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience to a bachelor's degree in these fields). + Five or more years of experience managing projects. + Excellent communication skills. + Proficient inMicrosoft Applications:
Word, Excel, Project & PowerPoint. + Someone who places importance on working hard, having fun, and building great relationships with their peers. + Two or more years of experience facilitating Agile methodologies, with a primary focus on the Scrum framework. + Demonstrated budget responsibilities preferred. + Demonstrated team leadership & management skills preferred. + Highly self-motivated, flexible, and able to follow-through, preferred. + Able to prioritize activities and manage multiple projects simultaneously, preferred. + Ability to work with many different types of personalities, preferred. + Experience with product test design preferred. + Experience working with a product manufacturing team preferred. + Experience in delivering solutions in environmental monitoring applications preferred. + PMI PMP certification preferred. Work Environment + General office environment, extensive use of PC. + Travel requirements: Domestic or International travel may be required 1 to 2 times per year. Physical Requirements Extended periods of sitting or standing typically associated with office work, tradeshows and international travel.
