Job Description

Assistant Project Manager Compensation:
$85,000 - $90,000 annually

On-site Overview An established construction organization is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of active and upcoming projects. This role partners closely with senior project leadership and plays a key part in keeping projects on track, organized, and running efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset are essential for success in this position. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Execution Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules Track progress against milestones and flag potential risks or delays Support the issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders Manage submittals from initiation through approval Coordinate material orders and monitor delivery timelines Work with subcontractors to ensure alignment with schedules Participate in project meetings and communicate updates Pre-Construction & Estimating Support Perform quantity takeoffs using drawings and specifications Assist with cost estimates including labor, materials, and equipment Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors Track and manage RFIs during the bidding phase Help prepare bid packages and proposal documents Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed Maintain organized estimating records and cost history Support the transition from awarded bids into active project budgets Daily Operations Communicate with field teams to collect production data Assist with job cost tracking and reconciliation Maintain organized digital project files and documentation Help manage project timelines and workflow sequencing Provide consistent updates to project leadership Review open items such as RFIs, submittals, and material orders Ensure all project communications are documented and up to date Skills & Competencies Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and PDF tools Familiarity with construction scheduling and takeoff software Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organizational and time management abilities Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in construction project coordination or similar role Exposure to civil, site development, or infrastructure projects preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field is a plus What You Can Expect Competitive compensation package Health benefits and retirement plan options Paid time off Opportunities for career growth and advancement Ongoing training and professional development
