Technical Project Manager - Manufacturing & Field

Innovar Group is supporting a Technical Project Manager opportunity with a company that designs, quotes, builds, and delivers industrial equipment solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on Project Manager who can own the full project lifecycle — from technical scoping and quoting through manufacturing, delivery, field installation, and commissioning. This is not a traditional PMO-only role. The right person will be accountable for both the front-end proposal work and the execution of the project, including managing budgets, schedules, customer expectations, shop-floor activity, field installation, and project performance metrics. A strong technical background is required, including the ability to discuss engineering issues and translate customer requirements into executable project plans. What You'll Do Own projects from quotation through completion, including assembly, delivery, installation, and commissioning Work with sales and technical teams to scope customer requirements and develop accurate proposals Translate customer needs, site conditions, codes, and technical requirements into budgets, schedules, and resource plans Lead project execution across engineering, production, supply chain, and field teams Manage projects on the shop floor and support field installation activities, approximately 20-25% of the role Track project budgets against original proposal estimates and identify variances early Develop and manage KPIs to measure project performance, cost accuracy, schedule adherence, and execution quality Communicate project status, risks, issues, and corrective actions to customers and internal stakeholders Support commissioning, customer documentation, site readiness, and product acceptance Review completed projects to improve future estimating, quoting, and delivery accuracy Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field 5+ years of project management experience Project management certification required, such as PMP, CAPM, PgMP, or comparable certification Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or power generation equipment Ability to lead both project quoting/scoping and full project execution Experience managing projects in a shop-floor or manufacturing environment Strong technical communication skills and ability to discuss engineering issues with customers and internal teams Ability to create, track, and manage project KPIs Comfortable working in the field at customer sites as needed Preferred Experience Oil and gas industry experience Experience with field installation, commissioning, or startup of industrial, rotating, or power generation equipment Background in application engineering, technical proposals, project scoping, or estimating Experience in a smaller-company environment where Project Managers carry broad ownership Familiarity with ERP systems; SyteLine experience is a plus Ability to read and interpret bills of material, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Innovar Group is a team of experienced talent agents dedicated to providing top-notch recruitment services across the United States. We''re committed to revolutionizing the recruiting industry by merging cutting-edge technology with exceptional talent. For more information, visit our website at At Innovar Group, we are committed to providing equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals. Our employment decisions are solely based on merit, and we do not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices based on race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity and expression), national origin, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
