Salary:
$22.55 - $33.74 per hour (Non-Exempt)
Job Type:

Shift:
Work shift varies. Shift assignments based on the needs of the department and seniority.
Recruitment Period:
Open Until Filled Job Description This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year of experience in police inventory, records, or related field; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
License and Certifications:
Valid Oklahoma driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge:
Federal regulations which govern chain of custody procedures. Inventory control methods and procedures.
Skills:
Oral and written communications. Following oral and written instructions. Dealing with others firmly, tactfully and impartially. Maintaining confidentiality.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) materials, supplies, and equipment frequently. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Secures and properly identifies found property and evidence. Assigns inventory control number and places in proper storage area. Records property on inventory sheet and enters information into the computer. Files information accordingly. Transports evidence to court and testifies to the fact that chain of evidence was maintained. Transports various types of drugs and paraphernalia to lab for testing or destruction. Contacts owner/finder of stolen or lost property to pick-up item(s). Disposes of items no longer needed for evidence or items of found property where an owner is unknown. Inventories and organizes police property for public auction. Instructs police cadets regarding property custody policy and procedures. Picks up bicycles that have been reported as found by citizens. Performs other related work as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a normal office environment where there may be some physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like when working outside with property.

Selected applicant may have to pass background investigation, psychological test, polygraph, physical examination and drug screen. Police
