  • LOCATION
  • Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Center in Lancaster, PA
  • SIGN-ON BONUS
  • Up to $10,000.00 prorated based on hours worked per week with a 2-year commitment. External eligible candidates only.
  • SCHEDUELE
  • Full time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday from 7am-7pm, with a rotating weekend on-call Friday 6pm through Sunday every 8-10 weeks, no holidays
  • POSITION SUMMARY
  • Provides Proton radiological care for the purpose and treatment of anatomic and physiological disorders within the Radiation Therapy section of the Department of Radiology. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: adolescent (13 through 18 years), adult (19 through 64 years), and geriatric (65 years and above).
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • + Deliver the prescribed course of radiation therapy and maintain records of the daily treatment as required by the department.
+ Must be able to review patient records, document information to chart the course of treatment and schedule appropriate appointments. + Must be proficient in image acquisition for the purpose of treatment field verification and localization. + Requires the ability to perform CT simulation procedures as ordered by the physician including the creation of immobilization devices for the patient. + Deliver Proton therapy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist. Complies with all Proton related policies and procedures. + Complies with all Safety features related to Pro Beam 360 + The radiation therapist assists with procedures and delivers Brachytherapy treatment, Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Radiation therapists are required to participate in the education and evaluation of radiation oncology students as directed by the Radiation Therapy Clinical Instructor. + Radiation therapists rotate through an on-call schedule to cover the clinic during weekends and holidays.
  • REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS
  • + HS Diploma or GED + Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program + Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology, issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
For individuals hired/placed prior to 6/30/2023, certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire/placement date + 2 years clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist + Completion of Penn Oncolink Training + Completion of Proton specific Competencies. + Ability to build collaborative relationships with Service Engineers We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
