  • Part-time, Full-time, Contract Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psych Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in various settings of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of medical practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. The Psych Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and managing ongoing care.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental health assessments, patient interviews, and reviewing medical histories. Diagnose mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and schizophrenia.
Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical, psychological, and social needs. Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Medication Management:
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy and side effects. Educate patients and families about medication regimens and potential interactions.
Crisis Intervention:
Address acute psychiatric crises, including suicidal ideation or severe mood disturbances. Develop safety plans and coordinate emergency interventions when necessary.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality laws (e.g., HIPAA).
Collaboration:
Work with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, and primary care providers. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and community resources.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and preventive strategies. Promote self-care and healthy coping mechanisms. Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing or related field with a focus on Nurse Practitioner studies. Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice. Experience in assisted living, skilled nursing facilities or medical office settings is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing high-quality patient care.
