No County Suffolk Street Address Pilgrim Psychiatric Center - Western Suffolk Center 998 Crooked Hill Road City West Brentwood State NY Zip Code 11717 Duties Description Pilgrim Psychiatric Center (PPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting a Board-Certified Psychiatrist. As a Psychiatrist, you will be part of a diverse interdisciplinary team focused on providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidence based treatment including:
- Performing psychiatric screenings, evaluations, and examinations.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures, diagnosing, and treating various psychiatric conditions.
- Administering psychiatric treatments, medications, and therapies. Conducting follow-up exams and modifying treatments as needed.
- Collaborating with other licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans, and approves treatment recommendations.
- Competency restoration.
- Correctional mental health services.

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.- Limited permit option: If you are licensed in another state or by written examination in Canada, AND meet the other requirements for Psychiatrist 1 or 2, you are also eligible if you have a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State.

This position is eligible for a down state adjustment of $4,000.NOTE:

Continued employment as a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 is dependent upon current licensure to practice medicine and in the case of Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2, current certification in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Loss of licensure and certification may result in removal from this position. Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
