PSYCHOLOGY INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION
The school psychologist intern is responsible for administration of cognitive, processing, and social-emotional assessment of individuals with exceptional needs under the supervision of a credentialed School Psychologist. The school psychologist intern provides assessment, diagnostic, and program assistance to the special education department. In addition, the school psychologist intern provides counseling and behavioral support to students as required.
SUPERVISION
Works under direct supervision of Director of Student Services and Supervising School Psychologist.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
1. Measuring and interpreting intellectual, social, educational, and emotional development of children. 2. Identification of and diagnostic casework with the child who has exceptional educational needs and collaborating in the planning of appropriate programs for his/her education. 3. Preparing written reports of psychological findings and insuring their confidentiality. 4. Providing consultation to teachers and administrators. 6. Counseling with students in individual or small-group settings. 7. Maintaining files of reports and records. 8. Attending staff and in-service meetings. 9. Other duties as assigned.
