This is a combined clinical support and administrative role. The employee will work one full day per week as a Physical Therapy Aide and will work the remaining scheduled days as a Scanning Specialist , supporting our medical records and administrative operations. The ideal candidate must be flexible, reliable, and available to work within the office's hours of operation. Closed These hours are listed on the NYMDC website. Main ResponsibilitiesPhysical Therapy Aide Duties — 1 Full Day Per Week Assist the physical therapy team with patient flow and room turnover. Prepare treatment areas before and after patient visits. Clean and sanitize tables, equipment, and therapy areas. Help patients with basic setup under clinical supervision. Restock supplies and maintain an organized PT area. Follow infection-control, safety, and HIPAA procedures. Support therapists and clinical staff as needed during busy patient hours. Scanning Specialist Duties — Remaining Scheduled Days Scan, upload, and organize medical records and patient documents. Accurately file documents into the electronic medical record system. Review scanned files for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Sort, prepare, and index charts and paperwork. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information. Assist with record maintenance and administrative projects. Support office staff with additional clerical duties when needed. Qualifications Prior healthcare, medical office, physical therapy, or records/scanning experience preferred. Strong attention to detail. Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully. Comfortable using computers, scanners, and electronic medical record systems. Ability to multitask in a busy healthcare setting. Professional communication skills. Must understand and follow patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. Flexibility to assist with coverage when needed. Preferred Skills Experience with EMR systems. Prior PT aide, medical assistant, front desk, chart prep, or scanning experience. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Familiarity with medical documentation is a plus.
