Public Safety Officer, PRN, 12a-8a (overnights)

Our twenty five acre campus consists of homes, apartments, assisted living buildings, and a skilled nursing care facility. This is your opportunity to provide top notch security to the largest non-profit, faith-based nursing home in Deland and Volusia County. As a Public Safety Officer at the Alliance Community your number one priority will be to provide a secure environment to our residents, employees and visitors. The successful Public Safety Officer candidate will possess working knowledge and experience in the following areas: Completing detailed shift logs to include documenting unusual incidents and events. Conducting routine office duties during shifts as required. Interacting with residents, guests and employees in support of the security mission of the department and community. Operating radios, telephones and related equipment in accordance with departmental and community policies. Conducting patrol activities throughout the community. Observing employee parking areas during night and morning shift changes to ensure safety of employees. Conducting escort duties for residents and staff as necessary. Reporting suspicious activity and persons and emergency situations to local law enforcement officers and emergency response agencies utilizing the 911 system. Report non-emergency suspicious activity or persons to appropriate agencies as necessary. Respond to after hour requests for minor maintenance issues that do not require the recall of maintenance staff. Respond to alarms and resident after hour requests for assistance securing the assistance of trained medical or other emergency staff when necessary. Be cognizant of unsafe conditions around the community and report on any violations observed. The Public Safety Officer position requires: A High School graduate. The ability to understand, write and speak the English language. The completion of job related College level courses or degree, technical school or Police Academy training or military service are preferred.
