Public Works Department Supervised By:
Director of Public Works General Purpose of Position Provides maintenance of city property, utilities and performs necessary maintenance on all sewer assets using knowledge gained through on-the-job experience, certifications, or pursuit of appropriate training. Major Duties and Responsibilities Assists with Sewer Operations Performs activities and work assignments at all lift stations. Assists with daily readings for pumps, generators, and other measured devices. Removes fats, oil, and greases from lift stations as needed. Inspects manholes for inflow and infiltration. Operates water jetting machine to clean lines or remove blockages Completes all necessary paperwork associated with replacements or repairs. Installs new lines. Operates sewer camera to identify problems in sewer lines. Assists with other Public Works functions as needed Assists with Lift Station maintenance assignments as required Performs maintenance for main breaks. Assists with snow removal. Weekend and night on call rotation. Assists in Maintenance City streets, greenways, trails, and rights-of-way Mows areas with tractor or by hand as scheduled. Brush hog areas as needed. Provides light maintenance of equipment as necessary. Sprays insecticide and weed killers. Assists in road maintenance. Performs other duties as directed Job Context Status

Education and Experience The person in this position must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Prefer experience in plumbing, public works, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered. Licenses and Certifications A valid Missouri driver's license is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge
