Public Works Worker

POSITION OVERVIEW

The City of Atlanta is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our Public Works team. This position involves a wide range of outdoor and hands-on duties to help maintain city infrastructure, properties, and services.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Strong communication skills and ability to work with the public Ability to follow directions from supervisors Work efficiently within established guidelines Perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks Operate equipment such as trucks, mowers, chainsaws, and other tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Climb ladders, stairs, and other structures Read meters, instructions, and reports accurately Maintain attention to detail in documentation and tasks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and repair city streets and roadways Service drainage systems, sewers, and culverts Mow and maintain city properties and parks Perform street sweeping and waste collection Assist with water and sewer system operations Maintain buildings, equipment, and signage Complete paperwork and daily reports Assist with construction, repairs, and general labor Follow all safety procedures and city policies

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
