Full Job Description Company & Position Summary:
Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Associates is a multispecialty private physician practice, providing Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep medical services to the Denver metro area for over 40 years. Our dedicated team of Board-Certified Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Physicians along with our skilled clinical and administrative staff exclusively serve nine Common Spirit and AdventHealth Hospital ICU's and multiple outpatient clinic locations spanning Colorado's front range. CCPSA's organizational culture exemplifies excellence in patient centered care, unified teamwork, and a highly collaborative approach in all business and clinical operations. We are currently seeking a Pulmonary Function Technologist (RT/CPFT) to join our committed team of professionals. We welcome candidates with a background as a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT/RPFT) or as a licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT). It is necessary that within this role, the Pulmonary Function Technologist (RT/CPFT) cultivates and supports a strong team culture and collaborative environment centered on consistently delivering exceptional patient care.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
Perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), including methacholine challenges and 6-minute walk tests, in accordance with clinic protocols, safety guidelines, and scope of practice. Provide oxygen and PAP therapy support, as well as nebulizer and inhaler instruction, in alignment with your role, credentials, and scope of practice.
  • Educate patients on PFT procedures, inhaler technique, oxygen therapy, and disease-specific topics, under provider guidance.
  • Communicate test results to patients in collaboration with providers.
  • Assist with prior authorizations as needed.
  • Support clinic staff education on respiratory procedures and PFTs.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in EMR systems.
  • Travel between CCPSA outpatient clinics in the Denver metro area as needed.
Skills, Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Health Sciences, Exercise Physiology, or related field. Certifications /
Licensure:
    CPFT/RPFT
    candidates: Current PFT certification required.
    • RT candidates: Current Colorado RT license required;
    RRT/RPFT
    credentials preferred.
    Experience:
    • Experience performing PFTs, CPAP therapy, or 6-minute walk tests is preferred; training provided for candidates new to certain procedures.
    • Solid clinical knowledge with the ability to observe and monitor patient responses during testing.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, providers, and staff.
    • Commitment to delivering excellent patient experiences in an outpatient setting.
    • Uphold patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Comfortable using computers and EMR systems; willingness to learn clinic-specific workflows.
    Compensation:
    • Competitive hourly compensation.
