Job Description
Job Summary O'Connell Drilling & Supply is hiring for Pump Technician! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of pumping equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise will help keep both domestic and irrigation pump systems running smoothly, supporting critical processes across various industries. Duties Repair and replace both domestic and irrigation pump equipment Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and safety protocols Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices Repair or replace faulty pump components, including seals, impellers, motors, and valves Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in logs and reports Assist with installation of new pump systems, ensuring proper setup and calibration Use specialized tools like ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and verify circuit integrity during diagnostics Skills Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments Good communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with team members Physical dexterity and stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy equipment safely Prior experience with pump systems or related machinery is preferred but not required; training will be provided This role is perfect for motivated technicians eager to make an impact through their technical expertise.
