Job Overview WHS Homes, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and resourceful Purchaser to manage the procurement of materials and supplies for our custom residential timber frame, log and panelized construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials while maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate purchasing activities to support smooth project execution. Responsibilities This role is the primary point of contact between WHS Homes, Inc. and suppliers, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication. Collaborate closely with project managers, production and other departments to understand material requirements and align procurement with project schedules. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing and terms to secure cost-effective and high-quality materials. Proactively communicate with suppliers to track orders, confirm delivery schedules, and quickly resolve any delays or discrepancies. Monitor inventory levels and work with internal teams to anticipate material needs, preventing shortages and project disruptions. Provide regular updates to leadership on purchasing activities, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities. Ensure that all purchased materials meet company quality standards and compliance requirements, promptly addressing any concerns with vendors. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications for transparency and accountability.
