Purchasing Agent

Job Overview We are seeking a team and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our hydroelectric turbine manufacturing company. In this important role, you will drive procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the seamless flow of materials and products to support our production and operational needs. Your expertise in sourcing and negotiation will help optimize costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen our procurement process. Responsibilities Develop and execute purchasing strategies to secure quality materials at competitive prices, utilizing Quickbooks and Excel. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate, pricing, delivery terms, and service levels that align with company goals. Manage procurement processes from requisition through purchase order issuance, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. Coordinate logistics and supply chain activities to optimize delivery schedules, reduce lead times, and improve overall inventory control. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier performance, and procurement metrics for reporting and continuous improvement. Support sourcing initiatives for new suppliers or products by conducting market research and evaluating supplier capabilities. Requirements Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles within a manufacturing environments. Strong proficiency with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Firm understanding of materials management and logistics coordination. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial agreements with suppliers. Knowledge of procurement best practices including sourcing strategies and pricing negotiations. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and build strong supplier relationships. $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
