Purchasing Agent

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, supplies, and services necessary for our operations. This role requires strong negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes. The Purchasing Agent will collaborate with various departments to ensure that purchasing activities align with production planning and operational needs. Responsibilities Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes. Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms. Monitor inventory levels using MRP systems to ensure timely availability of materials. Collaborate with production planning teams to align purchasing activities with production schedules. Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Utilize e-commerce platforms for efficient procurement processes. Work with ERP systems such as Oracle EBS or SAP to streamline purchasing operations. Skills Proficiency in MRP systems and supply chain management principles. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers. Experience in e-commerce procurement strategies is a plus. Knowledge of production planning processes and their impact on purchasing decisions. Familiarity with Oracle EBS or SAP systems for managing procurement activities. Excellent analytical skills for evaluating supplier performance and market conditions. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to meet organizational goals.
