Job Description

Hill's Fire Protection group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for researching, evaluating, and negotiating material pricing for various fire protection projects. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of materials while maintaining cost efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Assist the project management team in evaluating supplies by considering factors such as price, quality, and product availability. Meet with vendors and suppliers to stay informed about new products and pricing options. Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms. Review and verify purchase orders to ensure accurate pricing. Coordinate with project managers, shop managers, and suppliers to track orders and manage delivery schedules. Maintain up-to-date vendor and supplier information in the company database.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred. Previous experience in purchasing is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing situations. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to comprehend and interpret business correspondence and contracts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive and professional demeanor. Capable of working independently with limited supervision while being a strong team player. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Dependable, organized, and self-motivated.
