Job Description

Job Summary This position coordinates the ordering of parts for production and the maintenance department by quotation, requisition, and purchase order systems in place. Also covers the Shipping/Receiving department when needed. Essential Functions Converts department requisitions to Purchase Orders (PO). Contacts vendors to issue PO and receive confirmation. Tracks progress of all open Pos via open order report. Files POs and packing lists upon completion. Negotiate cost reduction with MRO suppliers Track cost reduction for monthly reports. Request and review quotes for new products and services. Receive request for new vendors and enter the information as needed. Respond to questions from Import Brokers for US Customs clearance. Back up for Receiving Department and UPS shipments. Completes Un-Voucher Reports for Accounting. Logs and commercial invoices for Customs recordkeeping. Other Functions Interacts with co-workers, customers, outside vendors, and government officials. Maintains a clean working environment. Continuously seeks to improve processes and procedures. Promotes a safe working environment for all Associates.
Requirements Education :
BA or BS in Purchasing or related field preferred.
Experience :
Four to five years' experience in purchasing
Skills :
Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, competency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications, familiarity with mechanics/engineering terminology, high level of accuracy in typing and filing, good interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
The position requires the ability to work in a climate-controlled office and production areas, walk on concrete floors, lift up to 20 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
