Scope of Production:

Rotational Molding and Extruding of Engineering Plastics Products:

Unique Nylon Tanks used for hydraulic oil and gas containers for building construction machines. Diesel Tanks made of Polyethylene for building machines and agricultural machines. Extruded windshield profiles used by all major US car manufacturers.

Elkamet Job Description:

Elkamet is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee all activities within the Purchasing Department, including direct supervision of team members. This role is responsible for ensuring effective inventory control across assigned material groups, driving continuous improvement of purchasing processes, and developing both existing and new supplier relationships through negotiation, auditing, and risk analysis. The position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage and maintain accurate, computerized purchasing records. This role also supports and maintains ERP system data, enabling Purchasing, Planning, Sales, and Production teams to access reliable inventory information and operate more efficiently.

Required Skills and Education:

• Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Logistics degree (preferred)
• 2-4 years of professional experience in industrial purchasing (e.g., contracts, sourcing)
• Strong decision-making and planning skills
• Experience in negotiation, strategic sourcing, and cost management
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics)
• Experience with ERP systems preferred, but not required

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels and create purchase orders as needed
• Manage purchase order confirmations and follow up on past-due orders
• Oversee the new parts introduction process (from inquiry through serial production)
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships, including audits, negotiations, and performance management
• Identify and qualify new and alternative suppliers
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing processes Special tasks:
• In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Purchasing Manager is also responsible for completing special tasks assigned by their supervisor that fall within their area of expertise or arise from production needs.
• Ensure compliance with the company's quality policy as governed by the Quality Management (QM) system
• Maintain responsibility for occupational health and safety compliance within the department

$65,000.00

• $75,000.
