Job Description
We are working with a manufacturing client in Wayne County seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support day-to-day supply chain operations. This role is responsible for placing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials arrive on time to support production demands. $24-$26/hrSchedule:
M-F 7am-3:30pmResponsibilities:
Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and availability Identify and evaluate new suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency Obtain and compare quotes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within an ERP system Review supplier acknowledgements and maintain accurate data Track orders and proactively expedite materials to meet production timelines Communicate delivery updates and delays to internal teams Resolve order discrepancies with suppliers Partner with Quality and Accounting on supplier and invoice issues Maintain reporting on order and expedite statusRequired Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years in an office, purchasing, or administrative role Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Clear communication skills with vendors and internal teams High attention to detail and follow-throughPreferred Qualifications:
