Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will drive procurement processes, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the seamless flow of materials essential for production. Your expertise will help optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and support efficient supply chain operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where proactive sourcing and strategic negotiation are key to success. Responsibilities Experience with purchasing manufacturing good. Steel, Hardware, MRO etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine procurement needs based on production schedules and inventory levels. Utilize ERP to manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate procurement records. Source suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards. Monitor supply chain activities including logistics, inventory management, and procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of materials. Conduct market research and evaluate supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Manage inventory control by coordinating with warehouse teams on stock levels, reorder points, and materials management strategies. Support production planning by aligning purchasing activities with manufacturing schedules and demand forecasts. Experience Proven experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong familiarity with ERP systems such as
SAP, SAP ERP, JD
Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms used for materials management and procurement. Knowledge of supply chain management principles including sourcing, logistics, inventory control, and production planning. Demonstrated ability in negotiation and contract management to secure favorable terms with suppliers. Experience working with procurement software tools like E-commerce platforms or specialized sourcing applications is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors. Familiarity with technical concepts such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning), pricing strategies, and merchandising practices enhances your effectiveness in this role. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
