Role:
The QA/QC Tech plays a critical role in ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements within the organization. This position is responsible for conducting thorough inspections, testing, and documentation to verify compliance with quality specifications. The QA/QC Tech collaborates closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, thereby minimizing defects and enhancing overall product reliability. By maintaining detailed records and reports, this role supports continuous improvement initiatives and helps uphold the company's commitment to excellence. Ultimately, the QA/QC Tech contributes to delivering safe, effective, and high-quality products to customers while supporting operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in quality assurance, manufacturing, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and relevant industry standards. Proficiency in using measurement and testing equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Basic computer skills including familiarity with data entry and quality management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent. Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management system standards. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis methodologies. Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and non-routine inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing rework and waste, and inputting data into quality databases. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions promptly. Monitor and maintain calibration of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of quality assessments. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and protocols to improve product quality and process efficiency.
Skills:
The QA/QC Tech utilizes strong analytical skills daily to assess product quality and identify deviations from standards. Attention to detail is essential when performing inspections and documenting findings to ensure accuracy and traceability. Effective communication skills are used to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report quality issues clearly and constructively. Technical proficiency with measurement tools and quality software supports precise data collection and analysis. Additionally, problem-solving skills enable the QA/QC Tech to contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
