QC Chemistry Lab Metrologist Location:
St. Louis 63114
Schedule:
Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00
PM Pay Rate:
$28-32/hour
Position Type:
6-Month Contract-to-Hire Position Overview We are seeking a QC Chemistry Lab Metrologist to support laboratory instrumentation, calibration, validation, and metrology activities within a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment operating under ICH Q7A standards. This role is responsible for ensuring laboratory equipment accuracy, reliability, and compliance while supporting analytical testing, data integrity, and continuous laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with instrument calibration, laboratory equipment maintenance, analytical chemistry techniques, and GMP documentation practices. This individual will work both independently and collaboratively with Quality Control, Chemistry, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to maintain compliant and efficient laboratory operations. Key Responsibilities Perform calibration, validation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and measurement devices. Ensure laboratory equipment maintains accuracy, reproducibility, reliability, and compliance with established calibration programs. Prepare calibration standards, laboratory solutions, and reagents used for instrument verification and analytical testing. Interpret analytical data and support chemists, engineers, and operations personnel with laboratory analysis and technical problem-solving. Maintain accurate GMP documentation and ensure data integrity in both written and electronic systems. Support analytical method development, method validation, and continuous process improvement initiatives as needed. Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies, reagents, standards, and instrumentation components. Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with site safety procedures and quality standards. Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory personnel on calibration, instrumentation, and QC laboratory practices. Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as required. Qualifications Associate degree in Chemistry or related technical/scientific field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered. Experience in laboratory instrumentation calibration, validation, metrology, or analytical chemistry within a regulated environment preferred. Experience working in cGMP, pharmaceutical, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred. Entry-level to experienced candidates encouraged to apply.

Instrumental and wet chemistry principles and laboratory techniques Calibration, metrology, and preventative maintenance programs Analytical method development and validation Mathematics and basic statistical analysis GMP documentation and data integrity principles Microsoft Office Suite Ability to: Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced laboratory environment Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and technical issues Accurately gather, analyze, and document laboratory data Work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing Train and support other laboratory personnel as needed Exercise sound judgment and maintain high attention to detail in regulated environments INDBH
