Quality Assurance Manager — Arkham Technology Job Description Arkham Technology is seeking a QA Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts across mission-critical encryption and cryptographic systems. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive QA framework that ensures the reliability, security, and performance of both our software and integrated hardware products. The QA Manager will work closely with Engineering, Software, Hardware, and Program Management teams to define testing strategies, prevent defects early in the development cycle, and ensure high-assurance quality standards aligned with DoD, national security, and compliance expectations. This role is hands-on and requires strong technical understanding of embedded systems, cryptographic software, and high-assurance testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities Develop, lead, and maintain the companywide QA strategy, processes, and standards. Build and manage a QA team capable of supporting multiple software and hardware product lines. Oversee test planning, test case creation, regression testing, and automated testing frameworks. Implement processes to prevent defects early during development (shift-left quality). Perform hands-on testing for embedded C/C++, Rust, and Python software, including hardware-integrated components. Collaborate with engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and testing coverage for new features. Ensure compliance with security, cryptographic, and DoD-related testing standards. Identify quality gaps, root-cause issues, and opportunities for improvement. Lead test documentation, defect reporting, and release readiness validation. Support continuous integration pipelines and automated quality checks. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a QA leadership or management role. Strong hands-on testing experience with embedded C/C++, Rust, and Python . Experience validating software-hardware integrated systems . Deep understanding of QA methodologies, automated testing, regression testing, and defect prevention. Familiarity with cryptographic systems, secure coding principles, or high-assurance environments. Experience working in a CMMI-compliant environment (level 2 or 3 preferred). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test frameworks. Ability to define, document, and enforce quality standards across teams. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Background working in DoD, defense, cryptography, or secure communications environments. Experience with compliance-driven testing (e.g., FIPS, NSA, or similar standards). Knowledge of FPGA-based systems or hardware encryption modules. Experience building QA teams or introducing QA processes from the ground up. Familiarity with Rust test frameworks and embedded system debugging tool
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
