Quality Assurance Representative III (Mechanical) GDIT is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical inspection, with a focus on precision measurement and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical components meet the highest standards of quality and precision. You will use a variety of precision measuring tools to verify that parts conform to specifications and will work closely with our engineering and production teams to identify and address any quality issues.
HOW A QUALITY ASSURANCE REPRESENTATIVE III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes. Document inspection results and generate detailed reports. Communicate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
High School Diploma/GED. 3+ years of related experience. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, surface plates, and optical comparators. Experience with
FAROARM CMM
systems or similar technologies and familiarity with PolyWorks software a strong plus. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Machinist experience is highly valued and encouraged to apply. Welding experience is highly valued and encouraged to apply. NDT experience and/or certifications are a strong plus. Raw material mill certification verification experience a plus. US Citizenship Required.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
