As a Quality Assurance Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring that aluminum can products meet established quality and food safety standards. Your responsibilities include advising production teams on quality compliance, conducting inspections, and analyzing data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. By minimizing quality-related downtime and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, you enhance overall production efficiency and product integrity.Competencies:
Required to work assigned schedule of 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday 11:00pm -7:30am. Overtime required as needed and approved by leadership. Primary function will be to act as Camera Champion with main focus on all sorting activities.Quality Control and Inspections:
expertise in conducting through product inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specificationsEffective Communication:
ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders, providing constructive feedback to team members and facilitation collaborationEquipment Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
proficiency in performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance of inspection equipment to maintain operation efficiencyProcess Optimization and Standardization:
skilled in implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to improve production efficiency and standardizationData Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
strong analytical skills to interpret date, identity trends, and drive process enhancements for better production outcomesRegulatory Compliance:
in-depth understanding of quality standards and systems (e.g., ISO), ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal compliance requirementsSkills:
Basic troubleshooting, ability to identify and resolve common mechanical and graphics issues in the production process to minimize downtime Mechanical aptitude, understanding of mechanical systems and tools, enabling efficient handling and maintenance of machinery Flexibility in Production roles, flexibility to switch between different tasks and roles, ensuring smooth workflow and responsiveness to production needs Routine Equipment Operation, competence in operating standard manufacturing equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining consistent production quality Quality Standards and Systems Knowledge, familiarity with quality management system (e.g., ISO), supporting compliance and continuous improvement initiatives Problem-Solving Skills, experience with root cause analysis tools and ability to recommend corrective and preventive actions to address quality issuesAccountabilities:
Statistical Process Control (SPC) Data Analytics, analyze SPC system data to identify trends, perform root causes analysis, escalate decisions, and provide insights for continuous improvement Inspection Equipment Maintenance, perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure operational efficiency and reliability Quality Decision-Making, make informed decisions on releasing or holding products for inspection during shifts, maintaining product quality standards Collaboration with Production Teams, work closely with production teams to implement control plans and address quality issues effectively Food Safety Compliance, ensure adherence to food safety standards and certifications, leading and coordination food safety audits and inspections Product Quality Assurance, conduct rigorous inspections processes to ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with regulatory and internal requirements Equipment Reliability, maintain and troubleshoot inspection equipment to ensure consistent operational readiness and minimize disruptions to the quality control processQualifications & Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a quality focused role or STEM degree in lieu of professional work experience Food Safety certifications (e.g., HACCP) and Quality Systems certifications (e.g., ISO or ASQ) are plus Basic computers skillsCompensation & Benefits:

This position is based in Monticello, IN and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
