Summary:
Perform fit-for-purpose analytical testing to support manufacturing, including in-line and finished product release testing. Execute laboratory procedures using various analytical techniques and instrumentation while ensuring compliance with operating procedures and documentation standards. Support quality control activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and laboratory operations in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform analytical testing in support of manufacturing and product release activities following established operating procedures. Prepare standards and samples for analysis and operate laboratory instrumentation with minimal supervision. Document, record, and report analytical testing data in LIMS databases and laboratory notebooks following good documentation practices (GDP). Assist in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations by conducting relevant testing and maintaining proper documentation. Recommend opportunities to optimize instrumentation methods and improve laboratory processes. Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives. Maintain laboratory housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to support QC operations. Perform additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field from an accredited university. Minimum 2 years of industry or relevant laboratory experience, preferably in the chemistry or bio/pharmaceutical industry. Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques, basic analytical instruments, and chromatography. Familiarity with analytical test methods and standards such as ACS, USP/NF, EP/BP, JP, and FCC. Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation. Experience with LIMS databases and laboratory documentation practices. Understanding of laboratory notebook review and analytical testing procedures. Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Effective problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities. Knowledge of Lean methods and continuous improvement practices. Ability to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
