Description Position Description Summary:
The Quality Coordinator I collects and organizes information in order to create checklists, work instructions, procedures and standards to support Butler Weldments quality systems and shop practices. This position is also responsible for supporting other departmental activities as detailed below.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code. Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, handling information requests and performing clerical functions related to the quality department. Collect, organize, monitor and distribute information related to the quality and process improvement functions. Create checklists, interactions, procedures and standards to support Butler Weldments Quality systems and shop practices. Maintain records related to calibration, non-conformance, material test reports and special projects as required. Maintain quality system files including, but not limited to inspections and test records, docent control, audit records and corrective action records. Create quality data packages for each customer and job. Provide support to customer source inspectors regarding quality documentation. Ensure quality data packages accompany shipments and/or mailed to customers. Assist with receipt and logging of materials. Review inspection and test documents for accuracy and completeness. Support the document control and retention program by maintaining hard copies and electronic files. Assist with scheduling government and commercial source inspections and work with inspectors to resolve document issues. Assist with internal quality audits for suppliers and company operations. Coordinate and assist with internal training of the quality management system. Demonstrate and promote teamwork and cooperation with team members at all levels in the organization to solve problems and improve processes. Continually learn from team members and strive to develop personal and professional skills. Required to wear appropriate PPE as required by job duties. Promote company goals including Safety, Quality and Production. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Position Requirements:
Education/Experience:
Associates or Bachelors Degree, preferred, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience. 1-3 years administrative experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Level II NDT certification in VT, PT, & MT, preferred. AWS Certified Weld Inspector, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of quality systems and lean manufacturing standards and practices. Strong attention to detail and proven organizational, communication and administrative skills. Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with both internal and external customers. Proficiency in office technology including Microsoft office Suite. Self-motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability and flexibility to shift priorities based on the organizations' needs. Ability to work independently and as with the team. Integrity, professionalism, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This is a full-time position that operates in both a professional office and production environment. Use of computer, telephone and other office equipment throughout the day as needed to conduct business. Physical effort consists of frequent handling of light to average weight materials. Work performed requires constant alertness and activity, concentrated mental and visual attention required. Position requires flexibility with schedule, working throughout all company building and possible travel on an as needed basis.
