Job Title:
Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer ensures that products and processes meet customer, supplier, and internal quality requirements while driving continuous improvement across the organization. This role develops and maintains quality plans, leads root cause and corrective action activities, and serves as a key liaison between internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of quality engineering functions to ensure compliance with customer, supplier, and internal system requirements and to support performance excellence. Gather, maintain, and analyze quality data to measure process performance, identify trends, and develop action plans for continuous improvement and corrective actions. Develop, maintain, and deploy quality plans that translate customer requirements into clear, actionable activities for manufacturing and inspection teams. Serve as the primary quality interface between the organization, customers, and suppliers to ensure their needs and expectations are clearly understood and consistently met. Manage and support the complaint handling process, including investigation, documentation, and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions. Perform contract reviews to identify and interpret customer quality requirements and prepare corresponding quality plans to ensure those requirements are fully addressed. Develop, implement, and audit inspection and test plans, standards, acceptance criteria, and procedures or work instructions to ensure consistent product and process quality. Investigate and eliminate causes of quality problems by performing root cause analysis, defining corrective actions, and following up to verify their effectiveness. Provide technical quality support and guidance to manufacturing and inspection personnel to resolve issues and promote best practices. Perform corrective action activities, including structured problem solving and documentation, to ensure compliance with relevant quality certifications and standards. Resolve non-conforming material issues by coordinating disposition, documenting findings, and ensuring implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Conduct product, process, and system audits to verify compliance with quality requirements and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers to share quality findings, status updates, and improvement plans. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience. Bachelor's degree. Minimum 3 years of working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and AS13100 standards. Minimum 3 years of experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Minimum 3 years of experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Minimum 3 years of experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Minimum 3 years of experience with developing and maintaining Control Plans. Minimum 3 years of experience using 8D or similar structured problem-solving methodologies. Hands-on experience with corrective action planning and implementation. Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques. Working knowledge of
ISO 9001
requirements and practices. Strong analytical skills to interpret quality data and drive improvements. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in developing and auditing inspection and test plans, standards, and acceptance criteria. Experience supporting manufacturing and inspection teams with technical quality guidance. Familiarity with complaint management processes and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Ability to perform product, process, and system audits and document findings clearly. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple quality projects and action plans simultaneously. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Work Environment The Quality Engineer works in a professional industrial environment that emphasizes adherence to formal quality management systems and industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, and AS13100. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturing, inspection, and engineering teams, as well as regular interaction with customers and suppliers. Work typically includes time on the production floor to support inspections, audits, and problem-solving activities, as well as office-based analysis and documentation of quality data, plans, and reports. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Muskego, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
